The fund allows the department to support those projects and needs for students and faculty that lead to national prominence. In honor of the achievements of this significant member of the faculty, a “Mary Jo Weale Fund for Excellence” was established with the FSU Foundation. Weale is remembered by many alumni as our first Interior Design Department Chair. Board members and alumni Craig Anderchak and Bobby Johnston coordinated the event.ĭr. The event was coordinated by Advisory Board members Natalie Scott and Judy Brett. An Atlanta AlumniEvent also occurred in February at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center ( ADAC). Petersburg FSU Interior Design Alumni gathering was held in February, 2012, at MarketPlace Interiors, Decorative Arts Center of Florida, Tampa, FL. Advisory board member Ron McCarty, curator of the Ca d’Zan hosted the event and provided a behind-the-scenes tour of the mansion.Ī Tampa/St. Department chair Lisa Waxman and associate professor Karen Myers shared the recent successes of the department and the summer program at the Ringling. Over 40 alumni and friends had the opportunity to catch up with former classmates, hear about the department’s activities, and tour the Ca d’ Zan mansion. The Department of Interior Architecture and Design held an alumni reception at the Ringling Museum on July 12.
